Upcoming Auditions

Our Youth Theatre are currently working towards performing Frozen Jr on 12th July 2026.

We are now recruiting NEW members to join us from SEPTEMBER 2026.

We will announce the next show auditions for the Advancing Company and 16-25 Company at the beginning of next term.

YOUTH THEATRE

All our students take part in Acting, Singing and Dancing.

We have been training students for over 15 years and some of our students have gone on to make their careers in the Performing Arts. For all students being a part of our Youth Theatre increases their confidence, improves performing skills and develops communication, socialisation and teamworking - all skills which will assist students throughout their lives.

Progression & Placement

We understand every young person develops differently, so placement within - and progression between - our Youth Theatre groups is flexible and ongoing rather than automatic. Placement and progression decisions are made collaboratively between staff, families and the young person, taking into account age, confidence, experience, readiness, ability to collaborate positively within a group setting and individual needs.

Our aim is always to place each member in the environment where they can flourish most. There is no “one-size-fits-all” pathway.

Our sessions are collaborative group environments, and participants are expected to engage positively alongside others as part of building brilliant theatre. We are committed to creating a positive culture across our Youth Theatre (and all our membership groups), where kindness, respect and support for one another are expected of all members.

Inclusivity & Support

We aim to make Theatre on the Steps Youth Theatre as welcoming and inclusive as possible.

We are always happy to discuss individual needs both in advance and as an ongoing conversation, to help determine whether our sessions are the right fit for a young person and whether any reasonable adjustments or additional arrangements may be needed to support their participation.

LAMDA Acting Exams

(London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Acting Examinations)

We provide optional tuition to students who want to take the London Academy of Music and, Dramatic Art examinations.

These examinations are performance based but also require the student to have a good knowledge of the plays from which they perform extracts and the staging and stagecraft of the piece. The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art has been holding drama and other performing arts examinations since 1880 and its examination schedule is established as a key element in speech and drama teaching. LAMDA examinations have always been of benefit not only to those who go on to make their career in the Performing Arts but also to everyone in their everyday lives as it assists in developing confidence, clarity of expression and communication.  LAMDA examinations are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, and form part of the National Qualifications network, and higher grades provide points for University entrance.

Tuition for LAMDA Examinations takes place outside of Youth Theatre sessions, with additional costs to cover tuition and exam fees. Contact us to Sign Up.
